I need to buy a new ski helmet and goggles for my four year old daughter, but I do not know where to buy them because it is the summer. Any suggestions? I live in the boston area, if that may help at all.

I’m in the 8th grade and I’m going to have a ski trip when I come back from winter break. I’m not sure what to wear though..and I’m very self conscious and shy. I have lots of time and the money so that isn’t a problem. I saw in pictures that skiers wear snow pants but, I think I’m going to look stupid with them on! Is there any alternative to big baggy ski pants? I have no idea what other kids are going to wear so I’m really uh.. nervous. Please help me! Tell me anything I need to know about ski wear from thermal underwear to whatever. Also a couple more questions, should I wear my hair down with a hat or up? Because I think i look bad with my hair up in it. And also, are Uggs good for boots? They keep me real warm and they are already pretty messed up so I don’t care if they get messed up more. Thanks!
We’re taking our family to Park City to go skiing. My kids were all born and raised here in Florida and we’re really out of our element. What are the warmest option for kids in terms of style and materials? We can’t wear wool. How do you layer – is it long johns, sweat pants and then ski pants? Any advice appreciated!
–bike riding
– skiing
– rollerblading or skateboarding
– ice skating
– using a pogo stick

if for some, but not all, do you feel that there’s really a substantial difference in the risk of head injury for those activities, or is there another reason?
thumbs downs not from me; just interested in what other people do. i got a concussion from a bike accident when i was a good rider. most ice skating rinks where we live will not allow children (sometimes also adults) on the ice without helmets. sledding is where i get the most resistance from my kids because it seems pretty uncommon for kids to wear helmets around here while sledding, but one local kid had to be evacuated to a hospital in an ambulance for a head injury while sledding.
i meant also to add that although i know you can’t protect them from anything, it doesn’t seem like a big imposition to me to put on a helmet, so my kids do it.
